Malcolm Chen is a Singaporean editor and assistant editor based in Paris, France. His interest in filmmaking began as a hobby in secondary school while shooting and editing short video skits for the entertainment of his family and friends. Having graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Film & Media Studies in 2014 and the University of Paris in 2021, he continues to hone his skills as an editor and has had the opportunity to assist on films such as Wet Season (2019), The Year of the Everlasting Storm (2021) and Last Shadow At First Light (2023), with the latter having premiered at the 71st San Sebastian Film Festival. While his focus lies primarily in narrative storytelling, he is equally passionate about music video production and has directed videos for Singaporean music artists such as Islandeer, Pebble and Racoonhead.
